NAMIBIAN CRAFT: The Unknown & the Outsiders //

This link is to my current project. It tackles the complications in Namibia’s indigenous craft culture and the influence of outsiders on this art. This video is presented in the exhibition of the same name and also shown at special viewings with an Artist Talk. It won the University of Alabama's most prestigious graduate award and grant 2014-15: Graduate Council Fellowship & Creative Grant.

This is a series of shorts in which I produced/shot/edited segments and won a SE Regional EMMY for its production. The sample is called Tree Bank. The link is for the series in which I also mentored several students to work on elements of production as well.

This link is a sample segment from the hour documentary series Alabama Life . This clip shows how comfortable I am in trauma scenarios and respecting the patient while keeping a clear narrative. I am proud of the dramatic effects I was able to add in the editing and sound design. I was the one and only videographer, producer and editor on this segment. As the series producer I was responsible for planning, producing and booking the entire 10 part series in less than a year. I enjoy the pressure and opportunities involved in being a “one-man” band. The EMMY award winning series Detours comes from this series.

This link is to the award winning documentary short titled Tasia and the Cheese Revolution. I was the producer, primary shooter and editor on this piece. This piece is a good example of my ability to use stock footage elements to enrich a story. This short won Best Alabama Film at the Sidewalk Film Festival and best juried documentary short at the Asheville Film Festival.
