The United Arab Emirates’ demographic is made up of only 12% of indigenous
Peoples, Emiratis. The remaining population is made up of outsiders. As a nomadic outsider, I recognize the importance of embracing the Emirati culture, integrating into the local community through reflection on the local environment, and by exchanging personal experiences.

Details: I’ve been compelled by recent topics in the media to respond to the #metoo movement.  It is my way to make sense of my own experience, participate in the movement, and encourage others to do the same.  This is one linocut print from a four part series. It’s ok to to be uncomfortable when one is standing face to face with womanhood.

Details: Left to Give.  includes four broadsides are stitched together in an accordion and folder protection element. The broadsides work as one cohesive story of the effect of outsiders like tourist and missionaries on the craft culture of indigenous communities in Namibia from the artist's point of view. 

Left to Give. includes six different pulled and beaten handmade papers that are made out of a combination of six fibers including flax, abaca, cotton linter/colored cotton t-shirts, mitsumata, lokta, and bamboo.  The piece includes both recycled paper and machined paper products. All of the text is letterpress printed on a Vandercook Press from polymer plates. Additional materials used include graphite, spray paint, and thread.
